Softball Recap: Arkadelphia Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bismarck

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arkadelphia). They skirted past the Bismarck Lions 14-12. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Badgers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Taylor Aultman and Addy Cauldwell did most of the damage at the plate: Aultman went 3-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases, while Cauldwell went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Aultman a new career-high. Kaylen Beard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Arkadelphia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Arkadelphia back to even at 9-9. As for Bismarck, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arkadelphia will face off against Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Scrappers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Badgers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bismarck, they will challenge Magnet Cove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
