After a string of three wins, the Rock Hill Redmen's's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 55-37 fall against South Webster. Rock Hill lost against South Webster in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-46 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Webster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skylar Zimmerman, who scored 25 points along with six steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Zimmerman has scored at least 25% of South Webster's points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Claxon, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Rock Hill now has a losing record at 4-5. As for South Webster, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Hill will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Ravenswood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ravenswood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rock Hill in their respective states (Ravenswood is ranked 33rd in West Virginia, while Rock Hill is ranked 324th in Ohio). As for South Webster, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheelersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wheelersburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
