Cairo-Durham extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Germantown Clippers. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring match to date.
Jacob Young and Logan Walz put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Young tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Walz struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
