After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jones, the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Washington Montessori 48-46. For Jacksonville Christian Academy, this counts as revenge for the 81-61 defeat Washington Montessori walked away with the last time they faced one another on Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jacksonville Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Hodges Jr., who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hodges Jr. has scored at least 25% of Jacksonville Christian Academy's points. Kellen Evans was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and eight assists.
The victory got Jacksonville Christian Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Washington Montessori, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksonville Christian Academy and Jones will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Washington Montessori will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ocracoke at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
