The Furlow Charter School Falcons will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Manchester Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Furlow Charter School suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Marion County on the road and fell 75-30.
Furlow Charter School's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Enrique Retana, who scored ten points along with seven steals, and Jaylen Deriso who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Retana continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Manchester unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. The match between Manchester and Upson-Lee wasn't particularly close, with Manchester falling 76-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Furlow Charter School's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Manchester, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.
