Howell Central have had to suffer through a 5-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They made easy work of Howell North on Friday and carried off a 34-6 victory. Howell Central were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Howell Central started the game off right with 18 first-half points. Howell North countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 18-6 going into the half. The Howell Central defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The win bumped Howell Central's record up to 1-5. Howell North are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6.
Next week Howell Central take on Troy-Buchanan at 1:00 PM. After those two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune. As for Howell North, they will face off against Howell. Howell North stagger into the match hobbled by six consecutive losses while Howell skip in buoyed by four consecutive wins.
