Norwalk has gone 7-2 against McMahon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Norwalk beat Warde 39-32. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Easton Pace and James Dellavolpe. Pace had a great game and rushed for 236 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Dellavolpe was balling out in the loss, throwing for 348 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in one score on the ground.
Norwalk's defensive line made their presence known, laying out Dellavolpe five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Johan Santana and Jaxon Ermo also recorded half a sack).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McMahon). They blew past Bridgeport Central 36-6 last Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
A big part of McMahon's victory came down to the chemistry between Matteo Larraca and his top target Justin Daniel. Larraca threw for 181 yards and three TDs while Daniel gained 161 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Larraca a new career-high in rushing yards (33).
McMahon's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Norwalk, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Thursday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Norwalk has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 207.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for McMahon, though, as they've been averaging only 95.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Norwalk was able to grind out a solid victory over McMahon in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 22-14. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Senators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
