After two games on the road, Calumet is heading back home. They will take on the Dollar Bay Bays at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Calumet were a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Iron Mountain on the road and fell 62-20. While losing is never fun, Calumet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Iron Mountain is ranked 24th).
Meanwhile, Dollar Bay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 81-41 win over L'Anse at home.
Dollar Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Vondoloski led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. It was the first time this season that Vondoloski scored 15 or more points. Liam Tourtillott was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Calumet's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dollar Bay, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Calumet was able to grind out a solid win over Dollar Bay in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 59-48. Does Calumet have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dollar Bay turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
