The matchup between the Covert Bulldogs and the New Buffalo Bison on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Covert took a serious blow against New Buffalo, falling 76-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Covert has suffered against New Buffalo since January 17, 2020.
New Buffalo found their leader in underclassman Lucas Forker, who scored 25 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Forker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Bourne, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Covert dropped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Buffalo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Covert will head out on the road to square off against Countryside Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Countryside Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
