Humboldt has gone 8-2 against Southeast recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cubs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 2:00 p.m. Humboldt is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
On Monday, Humboldt beat Erie 2-0.
Humboldt easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17.

Humboldt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylar Hottenstein, who had eight digs and three aces. Hottenstein is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, Southeast came up short against St. Mary's-Colgan on Monday and fell 2-0.
Southeast was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-9.
Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 13-24. As for Humboldt, their victory bumped their record up to 32-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Humboldt has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Humboldt was able to grind out a solid win over Southeast in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Will the Cubs repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
