Bristol is 10-0 against Morrisville since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. After both having extra time off, both teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bristol can now relate to. They were beaten by West Catholic 48-0 last Saturday. Bristol's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Morrisville had to suffer through a rough 47-6 loss at the hands of Lackawanna Trail. While losing is never fun, Morrisville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Lackawanna Trail is ranked 111th).
The losses dropped Bristol to 7-4 and Morrisville to 6-6.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Bristol has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Morrisville struggles in that department as they've been even better at 257.2 per game. It's looking like Thursday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches. Everything came up roses for Bristol against Morrisville in their previous matchup back in October as the team secured a 41-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bristol since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
