Basketball Recap: Jasmine Johnson and Taylor Cotham Secure Win for Herron

Herron won the last time they faced Crosspointe Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Herron Achaeans enjoyed a cozy 39-25 victory over the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Achaeans.

Leading Herron to victory were Taylor Cotham and Jasmine Johnson. Cotham posted 17 points along with eight boards and six steals, while Johnson put up 14 points and five steals. Cotham is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sydney Deemer was another key player, putting up three points and nine rebounds.

Herron smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Crosspointe Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Hannah Stock, who had eight points along with 12 rebounds and six steals.

Herron's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Herron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-30 victory against Central Christian Academy on the 27th. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-17 win against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 28th.
