Hillcrest's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Thomas Ashby
Thanks in part to Thomas Ashby, Hillcrest said goodbye to their 16-game losing streak dating back to last season. On Wednesday Ashby made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards.

Hillcrest's 16-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Charlie Brown. Cottonwood had no answer to Brown on Wednesday as he rushed for ten yards.

Big Game from Gritzmacher As Tooele Fell 49-10
Tooele had to settle for second on Thursday, but Vaughn Gritzmacher sure wasn't going down easily. Gritzmacher was unstoppable, rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
On the year, Gritzmacher has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 132.9 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after nine games last season, he had eight rushing touchdowns.

Murray was sadly handed a loss on Thursday, but Conner Whitehead did his best to prevent it. Despite the defeat, Whitehead was still balling out as he picked up 28 receiving yards.

Coleman Dearden Has Career-Day on Thursday
Coleman Dearden posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Thursday. He rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Dearden is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Tooele on Friday. When Dearden last faced the Buffaloes back in October of 2023, he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards.
