The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Mentorship Academy Sharks proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mentorship Academy.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myron Nelson, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Nelson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Roy Recasner iii was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Mentorship Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.
Mentorship Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Liberty Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Woodlawn-B.R. and Southern Lab will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
