The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Twin River Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 16 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Clarkson/Leigh and three for Twin River.
Clarkson/Leigh suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 62-29 loss at the hands of Lutheran-Northeast. While losing is never fun, Clarkson/Leigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Lutheran-Northeast is ranked 31st).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Korbin Lemburg, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Twin River was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 41-37 to Aquinas. That's two games in a row now that Twin River has lost by exactly four points.
Clarkson/Leigh's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Twin River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Clarkson/Leigh didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Twin River in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. Will Clarkson/Leigh repeat their success, or does Twin River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
