Make it five blowout wins for the North Schuylkill Spartans this season. They were the clear victor by a 71-50 margin over Kutztown. Given North Schuylkill's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Kutztown is ranked 637th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading North Schuylkill to victory were Zane Zulkowski and Jack Keiter. Zulkowski scored 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Keiter scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Zulkowski continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. jude maziekas was another key contributor, scoring six points.
North Schuylkill's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Kutztown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Schuylkill will take on Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kutztown, they will head out on the road to take on Brandywine Heights Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
