With a playoff game on the line, Shady Spring rose to the challenge  on Thursday. They won by a  set and slipped past the Greenbrier East Spartans  3-2. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.
 Shady Spring took Greenbrier East into a fifth set  where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 18-25,  15-8.
  Reagan Mann paced Shady Spring's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mann really made an impact as  she also led the team in assists with 13. 
 Rachel Mann controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
 Despite the loss, Greenbrier East still got an impressive performance from   Hailey Ervin, who  had 27  digs. Ervin is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 12 or more in the last four games she's  played.
 Shady Spring pushed their record up to 29-24-1 with the  win, which was their 12th straight  at home. As for Greenbrier East, their loss dropped their record down to 33-16-4.
 Shady Spring has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Ripley at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Greenbrier East and Hoover will dust off their jerseys to  square off against  one another  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Hoover will roll in looking for their  17th straight  victory, something Greenbrier East surely won't give up without a fight.
