Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is St. Joseph Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

St. Joseph Academy won the last time they faced Dunnellon and things went their way on Friday too. The St. Joseph Academy Flashes came out on top against the Dunnellon Tigers by a score of 11-6.

Connor Lewis was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eli Robshaw, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

St. Joseph Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-1 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only 3.75 in the others. Dunnellon has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will host Ponte Vedra at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dunnellon, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Dunnellon Tigers take on Newberry Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
