Merritt fell to Cordell 12-38 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Merritt were the clear victor by a 28-0 margin over Cordell. The success made it back-to-back wins for Merritt.
The victory bumped Merritt's record up to 3-1. Cordell are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Merritt will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Hinton. Hinton took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Merritt's good fortune. As for Cordell, they will face off against Sayre. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
