Even though the South Callaway Bulldogs have not done well against the St. Elizabeth Hornets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. South Callaway came out on top against St. Elizabeth by a score of 70-62. Winning may never get old, but South Callaway sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Williams, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Green, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
South Callaway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for St. Elizabeth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11.
South Callaway will be playing in front of their home fans against Missouri Military Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Elizabeth, they will head out on the road to face off against Chamois at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully St. Elizabeth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
