The Germantown Mavericks lost against the Neshoba Central Rockets back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Germantown took a 55-38 bruising from Neshoba Central. Germantown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayla Benson, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Jordan, who scored 10 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Erica Lyons, who scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Neshoba Central's points. Another player making a difference was Lanayah Henry, who scored 9 points.
Germantown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Neshoba Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Germantown will head out on the road to face off against Bryant at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neshoba Central, they will be playing at home against Choctaw Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Choctaw Central and Neshoba Central are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
