Basketball Recap: Yorktown Find Success

Delta came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Yorktown, but Alexis Fields wouldn't allow it. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Yorktown Tigers made off with a 47-46 victory over the Delta Eagles thanks in part to Fields, who posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high.

Delta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jillian Barr, who put up ten points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Barr has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Griffyn Knight, who had 14 points, to go along with five boards and three steals.

Yorktown now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
