The Tishomingo County Braves lost a heartbreaker to the Corinth Warriors when they met back in December of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Tishomingo County fell to Corinth 47-43. While losing is never fun, Tishomingo County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Corinth is ranked 96th).
Corinth can attribute much of their success to Cayden Harris, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Xae Mayes was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Tishomingo County has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Corinth, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Tishomingo County will stay at home for another game and welcome Wheeler at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Wheeler is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Corinth, they will head out on the road to face off against Biggersville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Biggersville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 340 points over their last five matchups.
