Midlothian is 10-0 against Joshua since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Midlothian Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Joshua Owls at 8:00 p.m. Midlothian will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Tuesday, Midlothian was able to grind out a solid win over Cleburne, taking the game 56-43. Given Midlothian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Cleburne is ranked 1034th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Alex Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Almodovar was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, even though Seguin scored an imposing 61 points last Tuesday, Joshua still came out on top. Joshua had just enough and edged Seguin out 64-61. The win made it back-to-back wins for Joshua.
Midlothian now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Joshua, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Midlothian took their win against Joshua when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 74-49. Will Midlothian repeat their success, or does Joshua have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
