Even though the Rock Point Cougars scored an imposing 67 points on Wednesday, the Basis Yeti still came out on top. Basis walked away with a 78-67 win over Rock Point. For Basis, this counts as revenge for the 68-51 defeat Rock Point walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Jack Engelthaler was a one-man wrecking crew for Basis as he shot 5-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 37 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Engelthaler has scored at least 25% of Basis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowdy McGourin, who scored 18 points.
Basis now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rock Point, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Basis will head out on the road to face off against BASIS Phoenix at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rock Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greyhills Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
