The Sinton Pirates entered their tilt with the Ingleside Mustangs with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Sinton breezed by Ingleside at home to the tune of 42-14. Considering Sinton has won six games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sinton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Garcia, who rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Garcia hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby James, who gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns.
Sinton's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Ingleside, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-1.
Sinton will take on Bishop at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Ingleside, they will face off against Grulla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grulla is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
