Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) snapped the 11-game winning streak of Springstead (Spring Hill, Fla.), with a 41-0 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Noah Johnson in the first quarter, the Hawks were up 31-0 at the half.
Armwood expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by Johnson to
Trevor Laurent.
With the win the Seffner school extended its winning streak to 13 games. Armwood defeated Jefferson 52-48 last week.
The Hawks had given up an average of 9.1 points prior to the contest. The Eagles came in allowing just 11.7 points per game this season. Springstead struggled against Armwood's offense, which entered the game scoring 41.1 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Springstead, which notched a 27-7 victory over Gainesville in its previous outing.
