Roanoke Baptist had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 87-57 loss at the hands of Christian Community on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seth Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Doeringer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Roanoke Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Christian Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Roanoke Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christian Community will head out on the road to face off against Kingsway Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kingsway Christian is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
