It was a good run, but the Kelvyn Park Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Legal Prep 45-41. Kelvyn Park lost against Legal Prep in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 86-33 score last time.
Laterryon Lee and Jacorey Stewart certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Lee scored 19 points, while Stewart scored 13 points. Stewart scored a full 31.7% of Kelvyn Park's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legal Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamal Craig, who scored 18 points. The contest was Craig's fourth in a row with at least ten points. TyShawn Spires was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Kelvyn Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Legal Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Kelvyn Park will head out on the road to face off against Little Village at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Little Village is ranked 242nd, while Kelvyn Park is ranked 249th). As for Legal Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chicago Collegiate at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
