The Riverview Sarasota Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 74-38 win over Gulf Coast. The win was just what Riverview Sarasota needed coming off of a 78-57 defeat in their prior match.
Susan Lowther was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Liashek , who scored 14 points.
Gulf Coast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kali Cleary, who scored eight points. Lilly Fultz was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Riverview Sarasota pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Gulf Coast, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will be home for the holidays to greet Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gulf Coast will be home for the holidays to greet Monsignor Pace at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Monsignor Pace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Wednesday.
