The Northwood Timberwolves are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Bosco Tech Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northwood had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 64-44 margin over the Oilers. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Huntington Beach is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaid Yunis, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Yunis has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidd Raj, who scored 15 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Bosco Tech scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 104-77 win over Arrowhead Christian. The victory was familiar territory for Bosco Tech who now have four in a row.
Northwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Bosco Tech, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
