The Buckeye Panthers came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 36-32 victory over Marksville on Friday. The win was just what Buckeye needed coming off of a 61-28 defeat in their prior contest.
Marksville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Laylla Dorsey, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Anneshia Reed who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Dorsey hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Buckeye's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-22. As for Marksville, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Buckeye will head out on the road to take on Jena at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marksville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mamou at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marksville is coming into the match with four straight defeats at home, so Mamou is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
