The Arleta Mustangs will be playing at home against the Bernstein Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Arleta is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Friday, Arleta didn't have too much trouble with Monroe at home as they won 26-8.
Arleta had a senior duo take command as Kennedy Duran rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries and Robert Tapia-ponce gained 49 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bernstein pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollywood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (50), Bernstein still had to take the loss.
Arleta's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Trinity Classical Academy and 2-6 Monroe (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.3% over those games). As for Bernstein, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
