 Cam Kratzer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 12 over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Rosemary Rice was a standout: she scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.  Kate Gibbs was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases.
Villa Madonna's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Holmes,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 2-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Villa Madonna will head out to  challenge Bishop Brossart  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Holmes, they will venture away from home to  square off against Calvary Christian  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on  a  six-game losing streak.
