The McKinley Red Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-38 bruising from Struthers. McKinley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 4th.
Despite the loss, McKinley had strong showings from Kherington Stanford, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Hannah Grimm, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Grimm also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Macik, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
McKinley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Struthers, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-13.
McKinley will square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Struthers, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m.
