The Dell City Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Marfa Shorthorns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Dell City lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a tough 66-46 defeat at the hands of Balmorhea. Dell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Dell City saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Reyes Espinoza, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Espinoza is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Eli Tate was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Marfa waltzed into their game on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They claimed a resounding 49-18 win over Sierra Blanca at home.
Dell City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Marfa, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10.
Dell City lost to Marfa on the road by a decisive 55-38 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Dell City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
