The Pulaski Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Stevens Point Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pulaski is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Pulaski didn't have quite enough to beat Notre Dame Academy and fell 4-3. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pulaski saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Molthen, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Stevens Point got the win against D.C. Everest on Thursday by a conclusive 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Abbi Grabow looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kali Standifer was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jordan Roth, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Stevens Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as D.C. Everest only posted an OBP of .118.
The victory made it two in a row for Stevens Point and bumps their season record up to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Pulaski, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pulaski has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Stevens Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .536. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pulaski couldn't quite get it done against Stevens Point when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 6-3. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
