Durand and Mt. Morris are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Durand Railroaders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mt. Morris Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Durand has not done well against Bendle recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Durand managed a 70-65 win over Bendle. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Markell Tate continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Tate is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brayden Joslin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and three steals.
Even though Mt. Morris has not done well against Bendle recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Mt. Morris snuck past Bendle with a 57-52 victory. The victory was some much needed relief for Mt. Morris as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Durand has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Mt. Morris, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Durand strolled past Mt. Morris in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 78-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Durand since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
