Fernley and Lowry are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Fernley Vaqueros will stay at home for another game and welcome the Lowry Buckaroos at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fernley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 77-23 victory over Churchill County. That 54 points margin sets a new team best for Fernley this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fernley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaiserita Otuafi, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Tollestrup, who scored 14 points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Lowry entered their tilt with Dayton with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lowry blew past Dayton 68-32 on the road. With Lowry ahead 42-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Fernley pushed their record up to 20-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Lowry, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Fernley came up short against Lowry when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 58-53. Will Fernley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
