Basketball Recap: Founders Classical Academy Has No Trouble Against KIPP Austin Collegiate

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Founders Classical Academy's strategy against KIPP Austin Collegiate on Friday. The Founders Classical Academy Archers were the clear victor by a 50-26 margin over the KIPP Austin Collegiate Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-36 back in December of 2024.

KIPP Austin Collegiate's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carolina Yanez, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Genesis Robles, who put up seven points in addition to nine boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Robles has posted since back in November of 2024. Abigail Perez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Founders Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for KIPP Austin Collegiate, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Founders Classical Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Idea Pflugerville at 6:45 p.m. on February 4th.
