After two games on the road, Athens is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Wellsboro Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Athens has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 266 points over their last four games.
Athens posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2023 on Wednesday. They breezed by Canton on the road to the tune of 66-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Athens has posted against Canton since December 19, 2018.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Athens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Mosher, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Mosher has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Jacob, who scored 14 points.
Wellsboro suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of North Penn-Liberty by a score of 45-43. Wellsboro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Athens has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Wellsboro, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
