The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas will face off against the Geneva Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
New Smyrna Beach's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Atlantic 16-0. The Barracudas have beaten the Sharks the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sharks has come to flipping the script.

New Smyrna Beach got a massive performance out of Kelsi Dodge, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Dodge a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Hausknecht, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: New Smyrna Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Geneva had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Royals. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by ten runs or more this season.
Bella Ortiz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.
In other batting news, Ella Ingram was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those doubles were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Briana Rodammer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Geneva pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for New Smyrna Beach, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.
New Smyrna Beach came out on top in a nail-biter against Geneva in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Barracudas repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
