The Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 60-46 fall against Independence Home School. While losing is never fun, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Lions are ranked 240th).
Despite the loss, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy saw an underclassman step up: Teddy Zitron scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Riley Ellis, who scored nine points.
Independence Home School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tate Beeson, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Daniels, who scored 12 points.
Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Independence Home School, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy will head out on the road to square off against the at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence Home School, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
