After flying high against the West County Bulldogs last Monday, the Valle Catholic Warriors came back down to earth. Valle Catholic fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 39-36. Valle Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Chloe Staffen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ste. Genevieve, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Greminger, who scored six points.
Valle Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Ste. Genevieve, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Valle Catholic will play host again and welcome the Black Cats, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fredericktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. Ste. Genevieve will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. South Iron has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four matchups.
