Basketball Recap: Goose Creek Memorial Takes a Loss

Goose Creek Memorial was the 46-45 winner over North Shore when they last played one another back in November of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Goose Creek Memorial Patriots were beaten by the North Shore Mustangs 70-38 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 126th).

When it comes to explaining why Goose Creek Memorial lost, don't look at Carinne Bouie. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Bouie a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Dumphy, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Goose Creek Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for North Shore, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goose Creek Memorial will host Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Summer Creek will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Goose Creek Memorial surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Shore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Channelview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in North Shore's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Channelview has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
