The Franklin Patriots had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 64-53 victory over Farmington. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Farmington is ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Franklin to victory were Owen Pittenger and Mitch Cronyn. Pittenger scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Cronyn scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cronyn has scored at least 25% of Franklin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Webster, who scored seven points.
Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Farmington, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Farmington will be home for the holidays to greet Bloomfield Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomfield Hills is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
