Everything went their way against Celeste as Wolfe City made off with a 60-36 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-17.
When it comes to explaining why Celeste lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taylea West. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with five rebounds. West continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddieclaire Park, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Wolfe City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. As for Celeste, they bumped their record down to 18-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Wolfe City will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Honey Grove at 6:30 p.m. Honey Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Celeste, they will head out on the road to square off against Sam Rayburn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Sam Rayburn is ranked 756th, while Celeste is ranked 761st).
