The Boyd Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 78-30 defeat at the hands of Paradise. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boyd in their matchups with Paradise: they've now lost five in a row.
Gazey Yates was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 0 assists for Paradise. The contest was Yates' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Channing Beauvais was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Boyd has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Paradise, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boyd will take on Callisburg at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paradise, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley View at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Valley View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1188th, while Paradise is ranked 236th).
