Rockwood scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Meyersdale Red Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Rockets still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, don't look at Riley Fazenbaker. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Fazenbaker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Isaac Adams was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rockwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Meyersdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Vogt out in front who went 7 for 13 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Vogt a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Rockwood's loss was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Meyersdale, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Rockwood will challenge Tussey Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockwood is facing Tussey Mountain at the right time seeing as Tussey Mountain is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Meyersdale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-56 defeat against Northern Garrett on the 27th.
