The Hampton Crabbers entered their tilt with the Kempsville Chiefs with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Hampton enjoyed a cozy 69-55 win over Kempsville on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hampton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abraham Taft, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Taft set a new season high mark in steals with four. Daron Baugh was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists.
Hampton pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Kempsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Patriot on Saturday. Patriot has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 430 points over their last six matches.
